Black Anarchy: Where the Urban Jungle Meets the Real Jungle; A New Form of Fashion
Fashion is more than just clothes; it displays a lifestyle and that is exactly what Black Anarchy is doing.
Black Anarchy is composed of the outcasts, the free thinkers. They are not defined by labels and dance to the beat of their own drum. They salivate at the chance to stand out from the crowd. They are the conversation. The standard is set by them.
They are the riot in the streets, shaking the foundations of society’s establishments. They are the merry band of misfit toys; the African tribe that was never tamed, yet rumbled and flourished in the grasslands of the motherland, to the concrete jungles of America.
Black Anarchy takes what was given to them to make it their own. They are the black noise that stands up for our people and lets the voices be heard. They set the trends that everyone else follows.
I was intrigued by the mission of this brand that I had to do an interview. Check it out below.
Can you tell the readers and I a little about yourself?
My name is Ray McConico. I’m 28 years old, born in Chicago, Illinois. I have always felt like I had a bigger purpose than just working a standard 9 to 5 job, so I have been working to escape my corporate plantation.
Growing up and still to this day, who inspires you and how did they impact your life?
Growing up, I have had many different people who inspire me. I cannot just choose one. The impact they all have had on me though is changing my mindset for more positive thoughts.
At what age did you discover your passion for all things fashion?
Funny enough I wasn’t really into fashion at all growing up. I’m not materialistic at all, but when I do see something that catches my attention, no matter if its expensive or cheap, I buy it. I have a very unique taste in what I wear. It’s very random at times. I like to be the conversation when I walk into a room.
How did you first manage to turn your passion into an entrepreneurial dream?
That’s something that I work on every single day. It’s an ongoing journey. I just decided one day I wanted to be apart if a movement that I see myself being apart of, so I said since I can’t find it, I’ll just create it.
Can you tell the readers and I about your brand Black Anarchyand its objectives?
Black Anarchy is a revolution. There are industries that we as Black people love so much, but we lack the representation. Black Anarchy plans to change that narrative. We plan to give the apparel industry, graphic novel industry and video game industry our stories and our culture.

What upcoming events, dates, or releases can we look forward to seeing from you?
Our 3 kings and 3 queens are going to be our amazing collections I have been working with my designer on some great ideas and I cannot wait to show them to you guys it’s going to be dope.
Any advice and words of wisdom you would like to share with us millennials?
For advice I would say, don’t be afraid to make yours dreams happen. Just because someone says you can’t or it has never been done before. Be a game changer go out and show all of those S.O.B’s that YOU CAN, and YOU WILL do what you said you wanted to.
