And because some of you are nice and don’t want to appear as if you’re a jerk, you still might say yes to going out with them at least once. However, there are some appropriate ways to politely turn someone down.

  1. Keep it honest by saying something like you’re just interested in them in that way or be brutely blunt.
  2. Blame it on bad timing.
  3. You can always offer friendship.
  4. You always want to keep the conversations short and brief so their mind doesn’t wander.
