I left home over ten years ago to start my collegiate years and since then I feel stuck. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed my college years. I learned a lot about life and the field in which I now have a successful job. But I have been here since college and while I love what I do I sometimes can’t stop the feeling of being stuck. Stuck in a place where I can’t grow…stuck in a place where there is little to no social scene for young adults…stuck in a place where I feel out of place. So, how do I make the best of where I am while constantly thinking about being somewhere else? Am I reading too much into it? Should I just let it go?

Well, let’s see ‘Debating About More’ my immediate answer after reading your email is make the best of where you are because it may be preparation for where you’re going. But, I’m sure you know that if I stopped there I wouldn’t be “LIVING OUT LOUD!!” :~) So, while it’s easy for me to say ‘make the best of it’ I know that it can be quite difficult to let go of any type of desire. Don’t think about where you want to be…focus on where you are. You see I’ve learned to be grateful for my current blessings. Conquering your present leads way to your future.
I went to the illustrious Alabama A&M University in Normal, AL (Huntsville) and six months prior to graduation I decided that I was moving to Atlanta, GA. I just knew that my opportunity for success in my field of Telecommunication/Marketing was there waiting on me. I applied to the T3 program at Turner Networks. I became a finalist out of thousands. After I received that letter I started packing my bags because I just knew I was destined to be in Atlanta. MY PLAN was to do the T3 program gain a fulltime position with the Turner Network, work a few years acquiring knowledge and open my own multi-media company. But I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “If you ever want to hear God laugh just tell Him your plans.” Needless to say, I didn’t get accepted into the T3 program.
I ended up working at a local news station in Huntsville for 3 years and then getting a job at Delta Airlines. Ten years, several long-lasting friendships, and connections later the opportunity presented itself for me to finally move to Atlanta. And not only was I able to move but my job paid for me to move. You see once I decided to make the best of where I was and what I had God moved me to where I wanted and needed to be at the right time in my life. If you allow GOD to work in your life He will always work it out. So, ‘Debating About More,’ make it a point to make everyday matter and ‘LIVE OUT LOUD’ where you are and if where you want to be is in God’s Plan I promise you will get there. :~)
