Exclusive Interview: Joshua Leonard Creates Superhero Cartoon to Inspire Youth with Disabilities

In February 2018, the African American community was on a high horse. Marvel had released Black Panther, which was major because it was one of the first and few superhero movies that featured an all Black cast.

For a young Black boy, or girl, in the hood, seeing a Black superhero on the big screen gives them inspiration. Inspiration that they can achieve the impossible. Even when the odds are stacked against them.

Now let’s take that kid who has a disability. Where the superheroes that they can relate to on the screen? This is why Joshua Leonard created Team Supreme.

Team Supreme is an upcoming cartoon series that features superheros with disabilities. I recently chatted with Mr. Leonard where he discussed the process of creating Team Supreme.
