INTRODUCING CHYNA DAVIS

People complain that they miss good music. That true R&B music. Well, we at Sophisticated Urban Minds had the pleasure of interviewing Ms. Chyna Davis. This Newark, New Jersey native is bringing back Neo-Soul music. At just 27-Years-Old she is able to steer in the young and young at heart. Davis started singing at the age of eight-years-old and was inspired by her aunt, “I wanted to sing just like her,” Davis said. She is also inspired by pioneer of music, the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. Davis admires Aretha’s strong voice and passion in singing.

With the Holiday season upon us, Davis is currently working on a Christmas EP entitled, “Gift of Love”, which will have five songs, including a couple original and favorite Holiday classics. One of the Holiday classics that will be featured is, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. The EP will be released during Thanksgiving 2012.

In addition to her music, Davis would love to open up her own hair salon. Her second passion is hairdressing. She also enjoys spending time with her one year old son, Jayden, “He is amazing!” Davis said.

She advises youth and young adults who want to pursue a career in music to, “Keep God first, and take advantage of every opportunity. Diligence is key, remain persistent, keep patient and network!”
