J. Boykin Keeps The Dream Alive Through Music

Jazz is one of the most smoothest and relaxing forms of music that also comes in many different forms. We have classical jazz, smooth jazz, that New Orleans Blues type of Jazz, and the list goes on. Inland Empire native, J. Boykin, has grown tremendously as a saxophonist. I remember first watching him perform when he was just in his teens and I thought to myself and knew that one day he was going to ‘blow up’ and become well-known because the boy was just that good back then.

Today, he has grown more into his sound and gives a show through each performance. He’ll hop on a wall, kneel down to the floor with the sax, and now he skateboards while playing the sax! J. Boykin is bad on the sax! He performs all across the state and also outside of the state. He is a regular at Crosswords Christian Church in Moreno Valley, CA and he was also featured on the hit sitcomGlee for several sessions. He also gives back to the community by teaching youth music lessons.

In addition to being a full-time musician and teacher, he is also a devoted husband and father to the two cutest little boys, one which is already following his daddy’s footsteps. To hear some of J.
