J. Boykin: The Unveiling of Newest Album ‘Pink Sand’
After a long awaited moment, saxophonist J. Boykin has released his newest album, ‘Pink Sand’. Prior to the unveiling of his album, he held a concert at The Fox Events Center in Riverside to give fans a dose of what to expect on the album. The concert was held on Sunday, September 1 and was sold out. After the first show sold out, there was a demand for a second show, which also sold out within 48 hours.
‘Pink Sand’ is written, produced and arranged by Boykin and features a variety of musical cultural blends to appeal to a wide range of age groups. There’s a lot of a Latin feel in his single, “Pink Sand”, then there’s the blend of R&B and Jazz on his tracks, such as “Kick Back and Chill”, “Heaven” and “Lovers Step,” and of course there’s the Smooth Jazz tracks throughout the album.
This album is definitely the epitome of displaying how Boykin has grown as an musician over the years. He is already being known as the “Sax Sensation” at the age of 24, and has been blessed from performing in his hometown of Riverside, California up to China and a variety of other places in between.
