MEET R&B SENSATIONS FASHO
Meet R&B sensations Antwan (21), Que (22) and T.K. (21). These three talented, young brothers are from the upcoming R&B group Fasho. Get to know a little more about the guys, what to except from them in near future, and a little taste of what life is like in the music industry for them.
The group Fasho has been formed for about eight years now. Fasho was created after they guys were in a talent search, and ever since then the rest is history, as the old saying goes. The name Fasho came from a producer that the guys were in a studio with. The producer kept saying Fasho, so they dropped the original name that they had in mind and went with Fasho. Que and Antwan are first cousins from originally from South Carolina and T.K. is born and raised in the ‘A’ a.k.a. Atlanta, Georgia. The guys all currently reside in Atlanta.
Fasho just shot the video for their first single, “I’m Wit It.” It should be released on big time networks such as BET, MTV in the beginning of 2011. Their album should also be released soon after the video.
Q&A Session with Fasho:
What are some of the Pros that you guys like about being in the music industry?
Que: The performances and being able to touch people who appreciate your music. It’s something that can’t really be explained until you’re living it.
Antwan: Getting to meet other celebrities and getting to travel.
T.K.: I would also have to say the appreciation of music and being able to meet other celebrities and being able to learn their craft, and the tricks and the trades that people outside of the music industry don’t get to see.
So since you guys said you like being able to travel. Where have you traveled?
Antwan: We have traveled all over. All 50 states! When you travel away from home you get to see the appreciation for your music in other states. It’s a different experience in each state.
What have been some of your favorite places that you have traveled to?
Que: California, when we performed at the Staples Center
Antwan: I would also have to say California, but of course there is no place like performing back home in the ‘A.‘
T.K.: Well since I’m the new member of the group I haven’t really gotten to travel too much with Fasho yet, but I’ve done some traveling on my own to Japan and South Korea.
That’s whats up. So with all the perks and pros that comes along with being in the industry, there are also the cons. So what are some of your cons?
Que: I would have to say some of the support with people not buying albums because of the recession.
T.K.: I would have to say the increasing of artist development
Que: I agree because there are some artists who are overnight successes and they do not have thatappreciation for music.
Right. So who are some of you inspirations?
Que: My Grandmother and Mother. My mom was a gospel singer. I’m an ol skool cat so my musical inspiration would have to be the Temptations.
Antwan: My Father, he was a DJ. And industry wise, I’m also ol’ skool so I would have to say New Edition.
T.K.: Personal inspiration is my Grandmother, who was a fore singer in a band back in the day, I just lost her a year ago; industry inspirations would be Chris Brown and Tank and Usher as far as vocals.
What are some of the artists that you guys would like to work with that you have not yet to work with?
Que: That’s a good question, a real good question. I would have to say Will I.AM because he isn’t stuck in a box.”
Antwan: Cee-lo, BOB, Mystikal
T.K.: T. Pain, like our music, his music also has substance, you want to hear his songs over and over again.
So what are some of your favorite songs tat you guys have recorded?
Antwan: ‘Why’. It’s on youtube so you can look it up.
Que: I would rather the fans be able to pick what songs they like best. I don’t want to say I really like this song and then the next song comes out and I’m like ‘No, this my favorite song.” But if I had to choose I would choose “Top Ten,” which talks about your top ten flaws….
T.K.: ‘Care for You’ it goes into the message on how you always know what the female is feeling, but never know how the guy is feeling. It’s has a really deep message…Antwan: Our favorite song as a group though is “I’m Wit It,” which is our first single, which we just shot the video to.
Since Urban Centric is a magazine dedicated to the Urban Communities, how and what do you think needs to change in the community?
Que: There needs to be more YMCAs and Parks to help kids stay out of trouble.Kids get into trouble because they don’t have anything to do.
T.K. Building of more recreation centers to keep youth out of jail. Also recreation centers will help to create more jobs. Youth also need guidance, when there isn’t any guidance, youth usually try to figure everything out on their own and end up getting into trouble. Kids like to impress to show that they can do it too, so when they have different activities to do, they can show what they were taught/learned.
Antwan: I agree with my brothers 100%.
I feel ya. What advice do you have for youth who want to pursue a career in the music industry?
Que: Don’t think that its an overnight situation, because it’s not. If you have the passion for music, motivate yourself. Believe in yourself, if you don’t no one else will. Be apart of all the social networks, because the internet is taking over.
Antwan: Don’t commit looking for a quick check. It’s a lot of fun, but it is also a lot of work, so be ready to work.
T.K.: Always be a student of the game. Always learn from other artists.
Que: Once you learn it, you must apply it in order to be successful.
Do you guys have any mottos that you live by?
Que: ‘Never Stop, Never Quit.’ Keep going for what you believe in.
What can we except from Fasho in the future?
Fasho: The first thing is we’re going to start doing a radio promotion tour asap for our first single. Next the video for “I’m Wit It” will be drops and we are also in the studio working on our album. After the album and video drops, we definitely plan on doing a National tour, we’re currently talking with people on opening up for them.
