North Carolina AT&T Alumnus, Ronell Miller, Launches HBCUStartUps
Saturdays are known as Small Business Saturday where throughout the Nation people come together to support a small owned business. Black owned businesses are also considered small businesses and in order for them to continue to grow, we must support them.
Speaking of Black owned businesses, HBCUStartUps is right in that realm. Founder and CEO of HBCUStartUps, Ronell Miller, launched his company to bring awareness to businesses that are founded from an HBCU alumni or student.
I recently interviewed Mr. Miller where he chatted about his journey in starting HBCUStartUps. Check out the interview below:
Can you please tell myself and the readers about yourself?
My name is Ronell Miller and I am the founder of HBCUstartups. I’m a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University.
What is the HBCU Start-up? What are some of the great services it provides?
HBCUstartups is on a mission to find every single business that has come out of the HBCU community. We help with social media marketing, business launches, and business strategy for businesses.
What influenced you to start the HBCU Start-up? Was it a hard decision when deciding to be an entrepreneur and working for yourself?
I created this because I saw a need for these business owners to connect with people that are similar to them. It wasn’t a hard decision. I have various business owners in my family and I want something to touch the world that came from me.
Who are some of the biggest clients and products you’ve connected?
Some businesses we have helped are College Daze Media LLC, ThatNewPeace LLC and a few others.
What are some upcoming dates, events and projects we should be on the lookout for?
We will be launching a new crowdfunding campaign for the first HBCU marketplace so people can see all of the businesses in one place.
What great advice and words of wisdom can you share with us millennials?
I say be disciplined because life is short, but also have fun since life is short as well. Time is greater than money. Find what you love and do that. Chasing money isn’t going to set you on fire everyday.
