Poetry Corner: A Different World
We are in and out of colleges like a foster home,
To obtain knowledge and use as a valid tool.
So many like myself from the ghetto stepping outta our comfort zone,
It was weird a new life education was cool.
A place I can breathe be myself my intellectual prowess was no longer alone,
No HBCU a Black man in private school.
First few weeks closet thing to family was my phone,
A Black ant floating in an Olympic size pool.
Never once would I frown and groan,
I broke the cycle never again would I be a drug mule.
