Poetry Corner: America’s Past Time
Beyond yonder across the deep blue my home with these eyes I cannot see.
At the crack of dawn on this plantation my brothers and sisters I don’t recognize.
Words sharp like a knife no mystery,
My mentor Maya Angelou Still I Rise.
Our freedoms we will not be denied,
So to our oppressor you must suffer demise.
Shackles and chains filled our lives with misery,
Now we look back we made History.
