Poetry Corner: Art of Deception
Everything that shines ain’t a diamond.
I’m not the jeweler but I can point you to the mine,
Desired of money is the thing that runs this societal program,
Without that you can’t control our minds.
Promises of reparations was the first cloak after slavery to save the dire situation,
Giving the people what they’re really worth is the only “no no” of capitalization.
The legalization of free prison labor would turn out to be just as major like the taper before the fade,
An impossible blend otherwise like court cost and fines on top of receiving unbelievable jail time.
Equality is the binding staple of Martin Luther King’s I Have A Dream speech,
Maybe one day we’ll act on what we preach,
The only thing the World could teach my Black skin is freedom and tomorrow isn’t promised.
