Poetry Corner: Being Mary Jane

There is always two sides to every story,

I’ll give this one a voice and put it to action.

I’m a journalist,

I live by the mantra that I cover the story,

I don’t become the story.

Controlling our images and access to the true stories,

Waking up feeling accomplished was always my passion.

Not just fluff but the filler questioning lies no longer,

Just an activist or conviction filled poet,

But a journalist breaking out of the standard category!
