Poetry Corner: Black Christmas
It’s that time of the year,
Kids cheer but adults fear.
An overindulgence by our masses.
You pinch your pennies all year for one to blow it the quickest change of gear,
You’ll spend your last pay check and all your life savings.
From the rich, poor, non existent middle,
This one pagan holiday living out our reach,
Nobody is excluded 1 through all 3 we all change classes.
Early on to our children Santa Claus gets all the ravings,
But as teens and adults we start to understand name brands,
And the top 1% now own our savings.
