Poetry Corner: Blinded to the Past

They’ve got us blinded to the past,

Blinded to our History.

They take out of the public school system, which leaves us to becoming self-taught,

Self taught on the lessons that ought to be learned from Pre-K.

They blind us from the past,

By telling us to forget about it,

But telling us to forget about it,

Will only make us forget about ourselves,

Forging us to lose sight of our identity.

They blind us from the past….
