Poetry Corner: Date Rape

Have you ever met a guy, who seemed so nice and right, who made you laugh and feel safe on the very first date? I have and this is story that very few know, until now.

I said yes to walking in the park, drank the liquor as we sat talking in the car.

Curfew at the dorm was near, but we didn’t want the night to end here, So I said yes to spending the night together at the Inn.

We sat on the bed, talked and laughed again.  It was all in fun and innocent, until he leaned in for a kiss, that was nice, but I explained, I wasn’t ready to have sex that night.

He aggressively pressed his body against mine, I said no, but he still held me down, pinned my arms above my head and parted my legs, I said no as the tears ran down.

I thought was this my fault because we were here, as I laid there numb in unbelief this was real. Had I said no to the walk in the park, to the liquor I drank, would he have raped me in the car?

Pinned down underneath him it was over as quick as it had begun, he had a slight grin, saying it would have been better if I had just let him in.
