Poetry Corner: Dear White People
We came from picking cotton in fields,
To wearing blue uniforms with shields.
Denied our education a cultural yield,
To leading education, scientific, and entertainment fields.
I do this not for myself but all my ancestors that were innocently killed.
The revolutionary kind marches streets for the deceased,
And uses any platform to state their peace.
This is not the movie or Netflix show looking to comicise the racial crease.
