Poetry Corner: Don’t Shoot

As we come with our hands up saying’

‘Don’t Shoot’,

we’re just trying to live like everyone else…

Trying to get to work, school, and home,

Like everyone else….

We just want some sense of peace,

a peace of mind,

Every day we pray and cry out for things to be different,

for things to change,

But for now,

All we can keep crying out is “Don’t Shoot.”
