Poetry Corner: Jailed Bird

If you’re not apart of society,

You’re apart of the system.

Slain brothers and sisters received a police bullet,

No justice it missed em.

We see blue and badge and think we’re safe,

But Sandra Bland, Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown of life they stripped em.

We watched your children tended your plantation and you never tipped em.

You sold wives, husbands, fathers, mothers and children,

Families you ripped em.

2018 and you have people believing they’re free,

You lying thief you tricked em.
