Poetry Corner: Lion King
The circle I keep around me isn’t corporate enough,
We still hands on so go on press your luck.
I’m Black I know aggressively is how I have to move because justice isn’t for me,
A cop could shoot me illegally in my back I wouldn’t get any.
They claim all of us move around bricks, hammers and shovels on tuck,
You know the saying round here only dead chickens and live ducks.
Raised from the dirt an innocent seed ravaged by the violent winds and thunderstorms in this concrete jungle,
Successes we don’t get many!
