Poetry Corner: Paradigm Shift

Birthed into darkness without any guidance not able to see the guiding light and make it out, we fell into the typical not to be hypocritical but the struggle was critical I was a beast.

I came home a changed young man I was conscious but not enlightened just the facts my knowledge and vernacular was heightened, my decisions altered the vision something simple as to success and to fail came down to college or jail.

Surrounded by comfort men I could trust never doubted loyalty the most used word in our vocabulary shouted never to uttered we sat at the table all this bread rolls buttered, beyond belief we ate amongst the devil even Jesus knew the truth but broke bread with the apostles his last big feast.

Call me soft and fake for leaving the hood but if you had a choice trust me you would, land of the walking dead not knowing their power beyond measure the everlasting hidden treasure I chose life over death and left that internal hell.
