Poetry Corner: Random Acts of Kindness
I saw you in heart and need, so I extended my hand and you held onto mine.
We slowly walked forward and stood together in line, this was our first and possibly last encounter.
I’ve never met you before, yet I held open the door.
My help is what you needed more.
More than a stare of judgment and a prayer.
What you received was an act of love sent from above.
To others you were just an old lady shuffling by, to me you represented the woman I may one day be, you could’ve been my grandmother, mother, or auntie.
I didn’t know you at all, and you didn’t know me, I was just perfectly positioned to fulfill a need, we call Random Acts Of Kindness.
