Poetry Corner: Society
We skipped class & smoked weed for our leisure and laughs never realizing how fast time would pass, years later you wish you hadn’t forged your own hall pass learning everything they tried to teach.
Caught up in the system’s illusion of freedom the only people we cheated was ourselves, led astray by society the clockers & rappers exaggerating to be winners and miners.
I wish we never jumped off the porch into the streets, maybe we could have found our gift earlier like preach writing scripts & poetry getting rich off our dialect and speech.
Experience was the ultimate trainer now filled with untapped potential, through the struggle we found our silver lining understanding they “oppressed us into diamonds”.
