Poetry Corner: Witness Protection
I’m chosen I have a gift to get up write, email, and speak the truth with passion,
Fed up with systematic distraction where justice is suppressed,
Gaining no diplomatic traction.
The new age of revolutionary became blackballed and imprisoned,
A modest upgrade but equivalent to our ancestors hanging from a tree or found lifeless in a ditch.
It never fails our fall comes slowly after the rise our followers and impact of change,
Just a small fraction because we were divided instead of organized,
Now our leaders are remembered by government character or life assassination.
Long after the right to vote in government elections we still suffer dissection in an integrated society,
But maybe we should have stayed segregated,
Built our own communities,
Educated our own children,
But we ran with the futuristic matrix glitch.
