Seasons
Cold and bitter, setting off all kinds of triggers, hearts cold inside just like the winter. Would you be my valentine…would you be mine or not, where your heart once stood, x marks the spot.
Shorter days, longer nights, having senseless fights, saying things to each other, whether it’s wrong or whether it’s right…feelings get hurt and now everyone’s tight.
As the grass grows green outside and everyone’s put away their pride, now comes the time for second chances, the birth of new romances, giving past issues…second glances.
Is it possible to let things grow or continue to watch people come and go…in all honesty, I just don’t know…most are able…to just go with the flow.
The desire for peace and tranquility rises just like the humidity… expectations packed up in picnic baskets, red rockets red glare, firecrackers create all kinds of racket.
Long walks along the beach, swapping “battle” stories of love wars once fought, white flags raised in submission but what has it taught?
“All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray”, it’s my hope that we find compromise…for this daily I pray. Are you full of tricks or treats, don’t need the deceit…thankful for a turkey but feeling incomplete.
Ho, ho, ho, let it snow, let it snow, out in these streets, where’s the first place we’ll go. Forgot the reason for the season as you’re standing in line, in this case, Black is good, not the race, the bottom line.
