Staying Healthy During COVID19 Home Quarantine

COVID19 attacks the respiratory system; a viral infection that is causing havoc on the body and taking lives. Being shut-in as a preventive measure is taking a toll on the mind. Below are some tips on how to stay sane and healthy.

Build a physical defense by taking vitamin supplements such as Zinc, Vitamin C and Elderberry to boost your immune system.

Saltwater and vinegar gurgling have been debunked as a myth, currently, there is no known cure just speculation.

Exercise benefits the body and mind by reducing stress levels, improving mood, toning the body and strengthening and improving flexibility and balance.

Reading books is an escape from your reality, a movie being narrated within your mind. A tool used for learning, intrigue, and enjoyment.

Dancing improves the capacity and condition of your heart and lungs, mental function, greater self confidence, and overall general well being. I’ve never seen an unhappy person dancing.

Rest. Many of us have been overworked, overstressed and sleep deprived. This is the time sit down, lay down and relax your body and mind. Be present in the moment. Gratitude for whatever you have is empowering, healing and uplifting; whether it be your health, family, happiness, a stocked fridge or home. There is something to be grateful for.

Pursuing and perfecting your talents. There are things we all have been gifted to do, whatever your talent, purpose or passion is, use this time to dwell in it. Practice, research and express yourself creatively, even in confinement and uncertainty, fulfilling things can and should still be achieved.

Spirituality is a firm foundation that can keep you grounded and sane during any storm or catastrophic event. Giving your faith and relationship in what you cannot see, a knowing that all things work out for the good.

In Biblical times the Israelites were enslaved by the Egyptians. God through Moses demanded the release of his people, but Pharaoh refused. When Pharaoh refused God unleashed plagues, blood in the Nile river, diseased livestock, boils, hailstorm, three days of darkness, an infestation of insects, the last one being the death of every firstborn. The believers, Gods people marked their homes with the blood of a lamb and the angel of death passed them over. Their families stayed intact.

The symbolic meanings of these stories can soothe and encourage any soul to believe all things are possible. Coincidentally, this time of year for Christians is called the Passover starting April 8th through the 17th.

Scripture reads: “When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down. And when your children ask you, What does this ceremony mean to you?’ then tell them, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians. Then the people bowed down and worshiped.” –Exodus 12:23, 26-27 NIV.
