The Michael Cohen Testimony
President’s Trump former attorney, Michael Cohen, is under fire and refusing to go up in flames alone.
On February 27, 2019, his testimony was nationally aired on the news for all to bear witness to. He was the soul target of condemnation and humiliation.
In August of 2018, Michael Cohen was convicted of tax evasion, lying under oath, making false statements to a financial institution, making an excessive campaign contribution on the behalf of Trump. The list is long. Since he has been the target of national controversy, the Trump administration has outed him as a liar, manipulator and claimed to have no idea of his illegal doings. Considering Mr. Cohen paid Presidents Trumps porn star mistress thousands of dollars in hush money, denying any culpability seems like a far reach.
During his testimony and interrogation of the court, Cohen was asked, “Do you believe Mr. President Trump cooperated or colluded with a foreign power to win the presidency?” Cohen stated, “Mr. Trump is all about winning, he would do what is necessary.” She restated the same question and asked for a definitive answer. He then stated, “Yes.”
This revealing testimony opens the door for impending legal action against President Trump, his family and the administration. It was also noted there is an ongoing underlying investigation by the southern district of New York regarding the alleged illegal actions of President Trump.
The scandal and controversy of this presidency may be bigger than Nixon and Watergate, sure to blaze the pages of our history. As Black people we pay more attention to hip hop news, BET, and crimes against us by the hands of other races and authorities. Make no mistake what goes on in the White House, and in our country, directly and indirectly affects us all. Food stamps being unavailable and income tax being held up during the government shut down are prime examples.
We as an intelligent people, must stay informed of what’s going on around us regardless if it doesn’t directly involve or entertain us. Knowledge is power.
