To The Courthouse—Then To the Chapel

Before couples used to go to Vegas—not to gamble, but to elope! They knew they wanted to be with each other and didn’t want to wait to save for a wedding ceremony. Now there’s a new trend—the courthouse.

More and more young couples are choosing to profess their love for each other and saying, “Why wait! We love each other, and know this is the one for me, so let’s just get married—today!” Not only is the courthouse more of a convenience love wise, but it also gives the pockets a huge relief. Some people dream of having a big and rather expensive wedding, but they do not want to wait to say “I Do” until they have the money, so they go the easy way out instead.

Just because couples are going to the courthouse doesn’t mean there isn’t a celebration. Some choose to have a wedding ceremony and/or reception months after, so that their family and friends can celebrate the occasion with them, while others just choose to have the courthouse ceremony and then an intimate dinner celebration the night of or day after everything has been made official.

It’s now 2015, and the old ways of doing things have altered a bit to suit the ways of the modern ‘world’, so if you know that person is the one and you not too keen on a prodigious ceremony, then by all means to the courthouse and proclaim your love!
