Why Won’t You March For Me?

Why won’t you march for me? I know that you watch TV. Another man shot in the back, and yes you’ve guessed it, that man was Black. Another unarmed man has been gunned down but it’s ok because his skin was brown.

I watch TV too and boy I do see you. You’ll march for the control of guns and for daughters who want to be your sons, for women who are still chasing their rights, but not for those who lives are taken by hate filled Whites.

What about my color offends you so, that my innocent brothers and sisters have to go in a painful hail of bullets robbing them of any opportunity to live their life without all of this stress and strife? Why can’t you see the pain that it’s caused, be willing to stop, think and pause at how senseless it is to be justified in openly committing genocide?

How many more names have to be added to the list before you and your family and friends insist that this racially motivated killing cannot persist? How can someone go into a school, kill 17 people and still be alive but you “felt threatened” by my brother’s dark skin and instantly without thought his life had to end?

When will you stop this burden we bear, co-signing treatment you know is not fair? Tell me what is it about me you see and please explain it to me honestly. You’ll march for everything else that effects humanity, but please tell me why, you won’t march for me?
